Russell Brand’s lawyer reportedly confronted a journalist who helped expose sexual misconduct allegations against the comedian just moments after he was convicted of rape and sexual assault.

Ian Winter KC allegedly approached Sunday Times journalist Rosamund Urwin outside London’s Southwark Crown Court on Thursday following the jury’s verdict.

“I hope you’re pleased with yourself,” Winter reportedly told Urwin, according to multiple news outlets.

“I’m pleased justice has been done,” Urwin responded.

Winter allegedly fired back, “Well it wasn’t. You f–ked it.”

Brand was convicted of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault involving allegations dating back several years.

The 51-year-old actor was acquitted of two additional rape charges and one count of attempted indecent assault. He denied all seven charges.

Urwin helped investigate allegations against Brand for a 2023 collaboration involving The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4.

During closing arguments, Winter accused the investigation of having “poisoned the well of justice deliberately,” arguing that the reporting influenced the women who later came forward. Prosecutors rejected that argument, maintaining that the investigation encouraged women to report experiences they had carried for years.

The six women involved in the criminal case retain their legal right to anonymity.

Brand was remanded in custody following the verdict and awaits sentencing.
