Rumer bared it all during a raw, unfiltered appearance on her close friend Maeve Reilly’s hit podcast, The Inside Edit.
Reflecting on her current era of life, the Reasonable Doubt star proudly declared that she is feeling more beautiful and confident than ever before.
“In an interesting way, I feel like the outer reflection is also [proof of the inner work],” Rumer explained. “I’m hotter than I’ve ever been.”
When the conversation naturally veered toward the internet speculation regarding her changing appearance, Rumer quickly set the record straight, clarifying that cosmetic procedures played zero role in her new aesthetic. In fact, she’s completely abandoned the needles!
“That’s not because I’ve had a bunch of plastic surgery,” Rumer laughed. “I don’t even get Botox anymore, I wish. That’s why I have all these lines on my forehead when I talk. My face, literally, has physically changed from spiritual work I have done. Which has been crazy. Like, I’ve shown people photos.”

Shedding the “Layer of Hiding”
When Maeve asked if the spiritual shift is why her face looks noticeably skinnier and more defined, Rumer agreed, explaining that her previous appearance was a physical manifestation of trauma and low self-worth.
She opened up about working intensely with a trauma therapist for complex PTSD, realizing she had been holding onto a subconscious defense mechanism.
“I think I had this layer of hiding,” Rumer admitted. “I had this layer of, ‘Don’t see me. I’m not pretty.’ I kept repeating that to myself.”
Rumer revealed that the real breakthrough happened after she welcomed her daughter, Louetta, in 2023 and subsequently made the “brutal” decision to walk away from her toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend. Finally stepping out of a victim mindset and allowing her nervous system to heal literally caused the physical “layer of hiding” to melt away from her features.
