Former Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard was one of the first cast members to speak publicly on Dr. Wendy Osefo’s recent shock arrest for fraud, and it seems Candiace is riding with Wendy.
“My first thought is, are they being targeted? Is this something that we should be thinking about?” Candiace said when asked by a local Fox outlet in Washington, DC, on Friday. “It just feels like someone is out to get the girls.”
Candiace went on to add that “two women from the same show — the same show that features African American women in the climate that we’re living today, where people are being picked up and snatched off the street for frivolous nonsense.”
Wendy is the second Potomac Housewife to end up behind bars in less than a year.
The franchise’s Grande Dame, Karen Huger, was sentenced to a one-year jail term for a DUI in February 2025 and began her sentence on February 27, 2025. She was released early last month after serving six months due to good behavior.
Candiace says she’s reserving her judgment until more information is released.
Dr. Wendy Osefo is facing 16 charges, including seven felonies, for allegedly providing false or misleading information in connection with fraud exceeding $300. She’s also facing one misdemeanor count of making a false statement to an officer.
Her husband, Eddie Osefo, an attorney, is facing 18 charges—nine charges of felony false/misleading info fraud in excess of $300. Eight of Eddie’s charges are for misdemeanor on false/misleading info fraud in excess of $300, and a misdemeanor charge of making a false statement to an officer.
