‘RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice Thought Fraud Charges Were a “Joke”

Teresa Giudice is spilling more details about her past legal issues, which landed her in prison, and says she did not believe the fraud charges were real at first.

Speaking to her daughter on the Casual Chaos podcast, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star said:

“I thought it was all a joke… I never thought I was gonna go to jail. Ever … Never in a million [years], cause I didn’t do anything,” she told Gia Giudice.

“I was like, ‘I’m not involved in my husband’s business’,” she continued. “I didn’t do anything wrong. I just went to a closing. I went to a lawyer’s office, and I put my John Hancock on papers. So I thought I would have a house.”

Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for fraud in 2014. She was convicted alongside her then-husband, Joe Giudice, who received a 41-month sentence.

Teresa began her incarceration at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, in January 2015 and was released from federal prison on December 23, 2015
