‘RHOBH’ Alum Garcelle Beauvais Reflects on Lisa Rinna’s Alleged Race Advice!

Garcelle Beauvais says one off-camera exchange during her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills run made her feel like part of her life was being pushed aside.

The actress and Bravo alum, 59, spoke about the moment on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show while reflecting on her years on the series. Garcelle has previously said Lisa Rinna, 62, told her during her second season that race should be left out of the show because viewers wanted entertainment.

Looking back, Garcelle said she did not seriously consider quitting RHOBH at the time.

“I didn’t think about walking away then, but I was very taken aback by that because I show up and my race shows up with me, and if this is truly reality, don’t you want to see my reality too?” she said.

Garcelle said she was not trying to make every scene about race, but she also did not want a major part of her identity to be left out.

“I mean, obviously, I don’t wear it like, ‘We have to, you know, Black power.’ That’s not who I am, but at the same time, you can’t negate who I am and what I bring and my experience,” she said. “That was a tough one, honestly,” Garcelle added.

The former co-host of The Real exited RHOBH in March 2025 after five seasons as a full-time cast member.
