‘RHOA’s Peter Thomas Begins 18-Month Prison Sentence for Tax Evasion

Peter Thomas, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey, has begun serving his 18-month federal prison sentence for tax evasion.

Thomas turned himself in on Friday, August 1, at the Federal Correctional Institution in Miami.

Upon his release, he will then begin a supervised release for two years.

Thomas pleaded guilty to failing to pay more than $2.5 million in payroll taxes, money he allegedly spent on lavish personal expenses instead.

The 64-year-old, who owns Bar One locations in Miami and Baltimore, admitted to withholding employment taxes from his staff between 2017 and 2023, but instead of handing the funds over to the IRS, he used them to bankroll luxury travel and upscale shopping sprees, according to prosecutors.

Months back, his ex-wife weighed in after Thomas inserted himself in the drama between Porsha Williams and her estranged, and now deported, husband, Simon Guobadia.

“I honestly wish Peter would just leave the ladies alone,” she said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in April. “When we were on the show, he would go back and forth with him, so, I just try to stay out of it…”
