Mark Ferrell, the ex-husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kelli Ferrell, is out of jail after spending more than two weeks in custody over a child support dispute.
Ferrell was released from the Rockdale County Jail in Georgia on January 8 after serving 17 nights. A spokesperson for Ferrell told Us Weekly that he resolved the matter by paying $61,992, which the rep said came from the sale of the former marital home.
“Mr. Ferrell has now satisfied his child support obligation in full,” the rep said, adding that his balance is “zero.”
The spokesperson also claimed the situation dragged on longer than necessary. “For over a year, Mr. Ferrell attempted to use the escrowed proceeds to resolve this obligation entirely,” the rep said. “His intention was always to handle the matter responsibly and permanently once access to the funds was granted.”
Ferrell shares three children with Kelli, Chance and twins Chasiti and Chelsi. He was taken into custody on December 22 after Kelli alleged he failed to meet court-ordered support requirements. Following his release, a judge ordered Ferrell to continue paying $3,991 per month in ongoing support.
The former couple’s legal battles have intensified in recent months, with both sides filing lawsuits related to visitation and filming. Kelli’s representative has previously said she has “consistently complied with court orders” while prioritizing her children’s well-being.
