Former Daily Mail reporter James Vituscka is suing the outlet, claiming he was fired after being pulled into Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s explosive legal battle.
Vituscka filed suit Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleging wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, discrimination, sexual harassment and interference with protected rights, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.
The entertainment reporter became entangled in the case after text messages he exchanged with Baldoni’s crisis manager, Melissa Nathan, appeared in legal filings. Vituscka was later subpoenaed for documents and testimony.
He claims the Daily Mail discouraged him from hiring his own attorney and “pressured” him to sign a declaration containing language he did not agree with, including saying he “regretted” certain actions.
The Daily Mail denied the accusations.
“At no point did Daily Mail pressure James to sign a declaration he believed to be untrue,” the outlet said.
Vituscka alleges his treatment at work changed after the subpoena and that he was ultimately fired in June 2025. He is seeking lost wages, emotional-distress damages and punitive damages.
“I became a journalist to find the truth and have the courage to tell it,” Vituscka said.
He added, “This lawsuit is about accountability and standing up for the basic principle that journalists should never be punished for protecting their integrity.”
