Ray J Back With His Children After Protective Order Update

Tiffany Brockworth |

Ray J will be able to see his children again after a Los Angeles judge agreed to modify a protective order involving the singer and his estranged wife, Princess Love.

During a brief court hearing on Friday, Jan. 30, the order was amended to allow Ray J unlimited contact with Love and their two children, Melody, 7, and Epik, 6. His attorney confirmed the update, saying, “The restraining order was modified to allow Ray J to have unlimited contact with his children and wife.”

Love addressed the court and explained that the children have been struggling with the separation. “The children have been asking about him. They are worried about his health issues,” she said. “I would like them to see their father. They would not be in any danger.”

The change comes weeks after Ray J was arrested following a livestreamed argument in November during which Love accused him of pulling a gun on her. He was later released on bail the same day.

The former couple, who married in 2016, have had a turbulent relationship. Love filed for divorce for the fourth time in February 2024.

Ray J has also shared alarming news about his health. Earlier this month, he said during an Instagram Live that he had been hospitalized for heart issues and pneumonia. “My health is not okay,” he admitted, later adding in a follow-up video, “Everything will be all right if I stay on the right path.”
