Rashee Rice is out of jail after serving 30 days for a parole violation.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver was released from Dallas County Jail on Tuesday morning. Rice, 26, had been jailed after testing positive for THC last month.
In a clip circulating online, Rice was seen running out of the jail before getting into a black Range Rover. He did not speak to reporters as he left.
Rice’s jail stay stems from his March 30, 2024, crash case in the Dallas area. On July 17, 2025, he pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges: collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury, and received a 30-day deferred prison sentence and five years’ probation.
The NFL then suspended Rice for the first six games of the 2025 season under the league’s personal conduct policy.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed Rice’s situation last month after the receiver entered jail.
“It’s not an easy thing he’s going through,” Reid said May 28. “Life lessons are important, but we’re all given chances to learn. So, he’s in that position now.”
Rice missed Kansas City’s mandatory minicamp and several OTA sessions while incarcerated. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
