Pooh Shiesty’s Dad Remains Behind Bars After Not Guilty Plea

Lyndon Abioye |

Pooh Shiesty’s father and fellow Memphis rapper Big30 have pleaded not guilty in a federal kidnapping and robbery case tied to an alleged showdown involving his label boss Gucci Mane and members of his crew.

According to court records, Big30 and Lontrell Williams Sr., who is Pooh Shiesty’s father, remain in custody after their bonds were revoked. The two men are among nine defendants named in the federal case.

Prosecutors allege the group lured Gucci Mane and associates to a recording studio in Dallas earlier this year before robbing them at gunpoint. Pooh Shiesty allegedly wanted to force Gucci Mane to release him from his recording contract. Gucci Mane allegedly refused.

Investigators also claim Big30 was the individual who handed Pooh Shiesty a firearm and blocked the studio door while the incident unfolded.

“As alleged, nine defendants travelled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting.  Instead of discussing business in a civil matter, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives,” said Ryan Raybould, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

“For anyone contemplating using violence and intimidation as a business practice, I’m here to tell you that it will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted in the Northern District of Texas.  This case also highlights the outstanding contributions of my colleagues across the United States, including in the Western District of Tennessee, Middle District of Tennessee, and the Eastern District of Texas, as well as the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and our state and local partners.”

Several of the individuals involved have been hit with serious charges, which include kidnapping and extortion.
