Could Stefon Diggs be headed back to Foxborough?
The star wide receiver stirred up conversation online after posting a message about his NFL future that caught the attention of several current New England Patriots players.
“This is not an opinion-based sport, so here are the numbers,” Diggs shared on Instagram. “I played 52% of the snaps and finished with 85 catches for 1,045 yards coming off an ACL. Where we going?”
The post quickly drew responses from teammates who appeared eager to see him return to New England for another season.
Milton Williams reacted with the eyes emoji, while Rhamondre Stevenson posted crossed fingers in the comments.
Receiver DeMario Douglas called Diggs “One of dem ones,” while cornerback Christian Gonzalez kept things simple with, “To the pats.”
Diggs became a free agent earlier this offseason after the Patriots released him at the start of the new league year.
Team executive Eliot Wolf later explained the decision involved both salary considerations and roster construction, though he said the organization had not ruled out a reunion.
The Patriots have already added Romeo Doubs on a four-year contract, and reports continue to link the team to A.J. Brown ahead of the 2026 season.
Diggs faced legal trouble during and after his lone season with the New England Patriots. In December 2025, Diggs was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery after his former personal chef accused him of assaulting her during a dispute over unpaid wages. Diggs pleaded not guilty and consistently denied the allegations through his attorneys. Earlier this month, a Massachusetts jury found him not guilty on all charges. The athelete was also involved in an ongoing civil dispute with ex-girlfriend Mulan Hernandez, who accused him in a lawsuit of attempting to silence her over alleged abuse claims. The Patriots released Diggs in March 2026 after one season.

Team executive Eliot Wolf cited football and financial reasons for the move, but many believed at the time that Diggs’ legal issues and his sizable contract were the problem.
