A woman who says Jamal Bryant fathered her son is accusing the Georgia megachurch pastor of being absent from the boy’s life.
Latoya Shawntee Odom, 44, made the allegations in a video clip from an interview with blogger Tasha K, saying Bryant “never has been” present for their nearly 11-year-old son, John Karston Bryant.
Bryant leads New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, Ga., and is known for speaking publicly about the importance of fathers being active in their children’s lives.
“And John loves him,” she said of her son. “One day, he told me, he said, ‘Mommy, I love you, and I love my daddy.’”
Asked about child support, Odom replied, “The last payment I received was $96,” adding that she took John to see Bryant when the boy was 2.
“So, I dressed him up at 2. He was in Atlanta. And I took him,” Odom shared. “Do you know Jamal never touched him? Just looked at him. They had a staring contest.”
Odom allegedly presented a DNA test in 2016 showing Bryant was 99.9999% John’s father. She also alleged that Bryant asked her to get an abortion.
Odom told Tasha K she met Bryant after he contacted her on MySpace and later hired her as a massage therapist and alleged that their relationship became sexual during a hotel meeting.
