Josh Jacobs is facing multiple charges after being arrested in Wisconsin.
The Green Bay Packers running back, 28, was booked in Brown County on Tuesday following an alleged domestic violence incident, according to jail records. The records list felony charges of strangulation and suffocation, as well as misdemeanor charges of battery, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, and intimidation of a victim.
Jacobs is being held without bond, according to the records.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning, when the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department received a disturbance complaint “involving Jacobs” at 8:37 a.m. local time, police said in a press release shared by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Authorities said the investigation is continuing.
Attorneys for Jacobs pushed back on the allegations in a statement.
“Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public,” his attorneys said. “We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.”
The NFL has acknowledged the situation. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league said it is “aware of the report” and has “been in contact with the club.”
