Offset’s mother has broken her silence after the rapper was shot last week.
Latabia Woodward shared a message online thanking fans for their support and revealing that her son’s recovery has moved quickly.
“I don’t typically address things about my son on social media,” she said in a video. “I learned a long time ago that facts rarely survive the internet, and I refuse to feed that machine. But today, I have to speak.”
Woodward said Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, was hospitalized after the shooting but was released just four days later.
“Six days ago, my son was shot. Four days later, he was released from the hospital,” she said. “Last night, he was on a stage doing what he loves to do. He is a miracle walking.”
She added, “That is God’s grace, that is God’s mercy.”

The emotional message came after Offset also updated fans following his release from a Florida hospital on April 10.
“Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love!” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m good … but I’m planning to be better!”
The rapper said he is now focused on “family,” “recovery” and returning to music.

Offset was injured after being shot outside a Florida casino earlier this month. Rapper Lil Tjay and his crew have been linked to the incident, but despite his arrest, he has not been charged. Offset has not implicated Lil Tjay publicly since the shooting.
