Offset avoided jail after a 2025 confrontation at a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary, receiving 12 months of probation, community service, and anger management classes in the assault case.
The Migos rapper was also ordered to stay away from the MedMen location near Los Angeles International Airport, according to TMZ. The case stemmed from a March 2025 encounter with security guard Jim Sanchez.
Sanchez alleged that Offset became angry after being asked to show identification, struck him in the face, and was joined by others during the confrontation. He claimed he was later hospitalized for his injuries.
Offset denied attacking Sanchez and offered a different account, claiming the guard spit on him before the situation escalated.
Although the criminal proceedings will not send Offset to jail, the dispute is not over. Sanchez is pursuing a civil lawsuit connected to the same incident. Offset has responded with a countersuit seeking more than $25,000 in damages.
The rapper has faced other financial and legal matters in recent months. He resolved a reported $1.5 million tax debt in December 2025. MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit later sued him over an alleged unpaid $100,000 gambling credit line, with his representatives saying they were working toward a resolution.
