Nicki Minaj may have to pay her former lawyers nearly $300,000 after a dispute over legal fees landed the rapper back in court.
The 43-year-old music star and her company, Harajuku Barbie Music, are facing a renewed request for a $295,605.41 default judgment from law firm Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, Rolling Stone reported.
The attorneys previously represented Minaj in a copyright lawsuit involving “I Lied,” a song from her 2014 album The Pinkprint.
Songwriter Julius Johnson accused the rapper of using elements of his song “onmysleeve” without permission. The case was ultimately settled privately and dismissed, but the disagreement over her legal bills continued.

The firm claims Minaj still owes them $229,541.75 in unpaid fees, with additional charges bringing the requested total to nearly $296,000.
In its latest filing on Tuesday, the firm maintained that its lawsuit “has not been responded to in any way by [the rapper].”
Although a judge has entered defaults against Minaj and her company, the judge has not awarded the money. The next hearing is set for Nov. 16.
Minaj went viral after she appeared outside a New Hampshire polling location supporting Republican candidates on Election Night, even though she couldn’t vote herself. She also recently joined President Donald Trump at a Michigan rally, where she rallied the crowd with a “We love Trump” chant.
