NBA YoungBoy may be one of the biggest rap stars in the country, but he says he wants out of the rap game.
The rapper made the surprising admission in a new i-D cover story, saying he is still recording and performing mainly because he feels he’s grown and matured beyond the music.
“I want to quit right now, actually,” said YoungBoy. “But all of this… It’s way bigger than me.”
The Baton Rouge native explained that his priorities have changed as he has gotten older and that he is less interested in trophies or the money these days.

“I feel like my W will be shown through my kids, you know?” he told the outlet. “It’s not about money or any of my own achievements.”
“If you were to meet them right now and say to me, ‘I think you did a great job,’ that’s the win,” he said.
His most recent album Slime Cry debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in January, giving YoungBoy his 17th Top 10 album. He has also earned more than 120 Gold and Platinum certifications from the RIAA.
Fans are now worried that the rapper may retire from the music industry very soon.
