Monique Samuels Says There’s No Going Back With Candiace After Winery Brawl

Monique Samuels is drawing a very firm line when it comes to one former Real Housewives of Potomac co-star.

While she may have surprised fans by softening her stance toward Gizelle Bryant in the latest episode of the Bravo hit, Samuels made it clear that there is zero chance of a reunion with Candiace Dillard Bassett. The reality star addressed the long-simmering feud during her appearance on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, her first trip back to the Bravo Clubhouse since rejoining the show for Season 10.

A fan in the audience asked whether Samuels’ personal growth might open the door to mending fences with Candiace, but the answer was a hard “no.” Monique said that moving forward does not always mean circling back, adding that she is comfortable with leaving certain relationships exactly where they are.

“There was no relationship, and sometimes, moving on doesn’t mean that you have to reconcile,” she said. “Sometimes, you just see people for who they are, you understand your place, and you set your boundaries. It’s OK to not bring something back that was never meant to last.”

The tension between Monique and Candiace famously boiled over during Season 5, when a heated argument at a winery turned physical and forced producers to intervene. The fallout made headlines at the time, with both women filing second-degree assault charges against each other. Those cases were later dismissed, but the damage was already done.

Monique ultimately exited the show after that season, while Candiace stayed on until Season 8 before making her own departure.
