Mitch McConnell is back home after spending nearly two months receiving hospital care and rehabilitation following a fall.
The 84-year-old Kentucky senator announced that he had been discharged from a rehabilitation center and will continue physical therapy from home. McConnell was hospitalized June 14 but did not reveal until weeks later that a fall had led to his extended absence.
“On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I’ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business,” he said in a statement.

He will NOT be returning to work until the FALL.
This is INSULTING to the people of Kentucky. They’re missing HALF of their Senators… pic.twitter.com/aTkq5ipDYr
McConnell has not shared when he expects to return to the Capitol. Senators are preparing to leave Washington for their August recess, with votes unlikely for several weeks.
The former Senate Republican leader had polio as a child and has previously spoken about having difficulty walking and climbing stairs. The Office of the Attending Physician said his rehabilitation included several daily sessions intended to rebuild his strength and lower the risk of another fall.
McConnell’s absence was felt Thursday as Senate Republicans failed to advance a farm bill out of committee.
“I know how much he would have wanted to be here to advocate for Kentucky’s farmers and rural communities,” Sen. John Boozman said.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has called on McConnell to demonstrate that he remains fit to serve or resign. McConnell intends to complete his seventh term, which ends in January.
Social media users are calling for the senator to record proof of life video.
Since Mitch McConnell has been released from the hospital, he should have no problem doing a 2-3 minute video explaining his condition.

To me, its not even about Mitch McConnell anymore.

We have a real problem when a Senator can just disappear for six weeks with only the vaguest of explanations & the whole institution just kinda shrugs it off.
Every other job in America would fire you for this.
No, Mitch McConnell has NOT released a statement that he has been released from rehab. SOMEONE from him “team,” has, and we still have NO idea what his true condition is…or…is not.

Why aren’t more people demanding proof of life from Sen. Mitch McConnell?

Alleged phone calls and AI looking hospital rehab photos don’t cut it.
It’s been over 50 days.
Today Rand Paul wants to force an 85-year-old Dr. Anthony Fauci to address the American people but refuses to ask the same of 84-year-old Mitch McConnell.
