Megan Thee Stallion’s legal battle with a former member of her touring team is officially moving closer to a courtroom showdown after a federal judge ruled that several claims brought by former cameraman Emilio Garcia against Megan and Roc Nation can proceed to a jury trial.
Garcia filed suit in 2024, alleging wage violations, discrimination and retaliation. He also claimed he was trapped inside a vehicle in Spain in 2022 while Megan had sex with another woman during a tour.
Garcia said he was “embarrassed, mortified and offended” by the alleged incident and claimed it contributed to a hostile workplace.
Megan and Roc Nation have strongly denied his accusations.
Her legal team has called Garcia’s allegations “false and fabricated” and argued that the more salacious claims were added to a case they view as primarily involving compensation disputes.
Judge Gregory H. Woods did not rule that Garcia’s allegations were true. Instead, he found that his discrimination, wage and wage-related retaliation claims presented issues that a jury could decide.
Woods did dismiss his claim that Megan or Roc Nation retaliated against him for complaining about the alleged sexual encounter.
Garcia’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, said his client is “looking forward to having his day in court.”
