Marlo Hampton landed her first peach on the 14th season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she says she would not return to her show as a full-time Housewife again.
“After eight years, I finally got my peach. The world was happy. To fans of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ that was a big deal. To be honest with you, I was not happy about it. I loved being a Friend. The show was in a bad place and don’t think I can just come and save the show. I came on with the originals. It was a different kind of show. A different time and age,” she said on the Across Gen podcast.
Before landing a full-time position, Marlo guested on the show for eight seasons, and viewers called on Bravo to officially make her a cast member, but the tides quickly changed.
Marlo’s beef with Kenya Moore showed viewers a side to Marlo that they did not like, and she quickly went from being a fan-favorite to viewers calling for her to get the boot.
Marlo says the show got too “dark” for her and that some of the cast “went too far below the belt” for her” and that they never respected her.
“Would I go back? If I go back, I want to go back as a friend. I would want [the peach] money. But I’m not big on a title. And I don’t know if it’s because of my upbringing. I’m big on getting the job done, being the best at my job, and getting paid. The title could be a janitor, but as long as I’m getting the money I want and need… I’m okay,” she said.
