Lil Durk is celebrating being closer to freedom following his recent murder-for-hire acquittal.
“Against all odds, we’re stronger together,” the rapper wrote on Instagram over the weekend, days after he was acquitted on all charges in his murder-for-hire trial.
Durk, born Durk Banks, shared a photo with his legal team and thanked those who stood by him during the case.
“Allah doesn’t make mistakes. I feel all the love and positive energy,” he wrote.
The 33-year-old then shared what he plans to do next.
“Now let me be free to help save our kids and bring unity back to our communities,” Durk continued. “I couldn’t have made it this far without my family, my lawyers, and supporters.”
He ended the post with “Freedom. Freedom. Freedom.”
Durk was found not guilty Friday, September 11, on charges tied to an alleged plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo. Rondo survived the shooting connected to the case, while his cousin was killed.
Prosecutors had accused Durk of helping arrange the attack. Jurors rejected the allegations and cleared him on every count.
The rapper remains in custody and is due to face a separate RICO trial on October 5.
