Leah Remini is officially a Housewife.
The actress and outspoken Scientology critic has landed a full-time spot on Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, joining Bravo’s most-watched Housewives series.
Remini, 56, will enter the group with fellow newcomer Tracy Tutor, who spent six seasons on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles before that series was put on pause.
They will film alongside returning Housewives Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Bozoma Saint John, Rachel Zoe and Sutton Stracke. Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly are also returning in friend roles.
Production is already underway. Richards, Kemsley, Tilly and Stracke were among the cast members who attended Saint John’s August 21 wedding to Keely Watson in Ghana. Remini and Tutor were not there, though Remini is expected to begin shooting in Los Angeles later this week.
The additions put an end to months of cast rumors, including speculation that Richards could be leaving and that Kemsley might be placed on pause.
Executive producer Andy Cohen previously poked fun at viewers who routinely demand changes to the franchise, telling Variety, “They hate it so much, it’s the No. 1 ‘Housewives.’”
Remini is best known for starring on The King of Queens for nine seasons. After leaving Scientology, she became a vocal critic of the organization and co-hosted Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath with Mike Rinder.
