Laverne Cox Claims Brands Are “Very Scared” to Work With Her Under Trump!

Laverne Cox says that her pockets are suffering in this second term under President Donald Trump.

In a recent interview with Attitude, the Emmy-winning Orange Is the New Black star said she has “lost so much money” as brands and colleges pull back from diversity, equity and inclusion work.

“I’ve lost so much money because of this administration, the past year,” Cox said. “I managed to stay busy with acting and branding work, as well as speaking engagements. But I never thought college speaking gigs would dry up.”

Cox claims that she now survives on her savings and retirement money.

“I was working really hard to get out of a financial hole,” she continued. “But then I was also working hard to try to lift up my community.”

Cox said she had no savings or retirement and was still paying student loan debt when the role changed her life at 40.

“This administration is very punitive with anything that suggests DEI or gender ideology, and corporations have been very scared,” Cox went on.

“The blessing is that I finally have the privilege to have a retirement fund to dip into,” she added, “but you don’t really want to do that.”
