Kim Zolciak’s financial troubles are mounting just as she faces one of the most serious challenges of her family life.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 48, is being pursued for nearly $150,000 in two debt lawsuits. At the same time, her teenage son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., remains detained following his arrest on sexual assault-related charges.
Headway Capital claims Zolciak defaulted on a $75,000 line of credit tied to 8 Busy B’s LLC, a business she previously operated with estranged husband Kroy Biermann. The lender is now seeking $130,634.03 after adding interest, per US Weekly.
A second lawsuit filed by Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC alleges Zolciak owes $16,759.51 on a credit card account originally opened through Barclays Bank Delaware.
Zolciak has not responded to either lawsuit.
Meanwhile, 15-year-old KJ was indicted Sept. 3 on seven counts, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16.
KJ has denied the allegations. He remains at Atlanta’s Regional Youth Detention Center and his bond hearing is scheduled for September 11, with an arraignment expected next month.
His attorney, Jason Sheffield, filed a motion this week to move the case to juvenile court rather than have KJ tried as an adult.
“My client is 100 percent innocent,” Sheffield said in a statement.
