Kevin Hart wants $50,000 from his former assistant, arguing that she crossed a legal line when she spoke publicly about matters he says were supposed to stay private.
In new court filings, the actor and comedian is asking a judge to enforce a “nondisclosure agreement” he says Miesha Shakes signed while working for his company. According to Hart’s legal team, the agreement included a “$50,000” penalty if protected information was disclosed publicly.
Hart and Shakes, who have been locked in litigation with him since late 2023. Hart first sued Shakes and YouTuber Tasha K. after an online interview included claims about his private life. Hart alleged defamation, invasion of privacy, and breach of contract, but a judge later dismissed some parts of the case, including a civil extortion claim, while allowing other allegations to move ahead.
Now, Hart’s attorneys argue that Shakes shared “confidential information” through interviews and media appearances, violating the agreement she accepted during her employment, and want the agreement between them enforced.
He previously sued Tasha K, real name Natasha Kebe.
“Kebe has an established history of posting defamatory and otherwise improper content regarding celebrities,” states Hart’s lawsuit.
In February 2025, Tasha K and Shakes reached a settlement with the comedian in his defamation lawsuit against them. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The filing only stated that the parties were “working on the language of their settlement agreements.”
