Kenya Moore Shrugs Off Shocking Curbside Scene

Lyndon Abioye |

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kenya Moore’s camp is addressing questions after photos showed items from her hair salon sitting on a curb outside the business.

The images, which circulated online on April 24, led to speculation that Moore had been forced out of the space. But an insider told Reality Blurb the situation was already in motion.

“Nothing about the stuff inside the shop being put out on the street was at all surprising to Kenya,” the source said. “She had already moved out weeks ago.” The insider added that Kenya and her landlord have been involved in a legal dispute for some time.

TMZ previously reported court documents showed the salon was ordered to pay $80,000 in unpaid rent and utilities.

“His putting her stuff on the curb was nothing more than a PR stunt,” the source claimed. “Did it bother Kenya? Not in the slightest.”

According to the source, Kenya was out of the country at the time of the eviction.

“She was in Japan with her daughter and niece enjoying a family vacation,” the insider said.

Kenya also shared her own statement on social media.

“I have spent the last several weeks moving out of my salon as a result of my ongoing legal battle with the landlord who has failed to reimburse me nearly $80K of improvement funds I am rightfully owed,” she wrote.

She added, “My only recourse was to withhold rent and file a countersuit.”

“This salon chapter is closing,” she wrote. “It’s not the end. It’s just the beginning of a new era.”
