Karrueche Tran Says Leaving Deion Sanders Would’ve Been the “Easy Way Out”

Karrueche Tran is opening up about the moment her relationship with Deion Sanders was tested in an unexpected way.

In a recent video shared by Sanders, the actress revealed that after the NFL Hall of Famer learned he had an aggressive form of bladder cancer, he gave her the chance to walk away. “

This man told me, ‘You don’t have to stay. You don’t have to deal with it,’” Tran said, recalling the conversation that followed his diagnosis in spring 2025.

Sanders admitted he struggled with the idea of putting someone he loved through such a serious health battle. “You didn’t sign up for this,” he said, explaining that he wanted her to feel free to choose what was best for her. “I would not be upset if you checked out.”

Tran, 37, said leaving never felt like an option. “If I dipped, I would’ve taken the easy way out,” she shared. “It was hard, it was difficult mentally, but we made it work.”

Sanders later underwent bladder reconstruction surgery and was declared cancer-free. He said the experience changed his outlook. “It triggered something in me that said, ‘Start living,’” he explained.

Tran was by his side through surgeries and recovery, believing their connection had a deeper purpose. “To help you live life and experience new things,” she said. “That’s why we’re here together.”
