Kandi Burruss is stepping into an emotional new reality as the fallout from her breakup with Todd Tucker becomes more visible.
A source close to the situation says the marriage had been strained for months, and Kandi was stunned when she learned that Todd had allegedly been communicating with other women.
“Kandi and Todd had been having marriage troubles for a while now. Kandi was not happy because she found out that Todd had been talking to other women behind her back,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively. “She had no idea.”
Neither Kandi’s team nor Todd has addressed the accusations publicly, but Burruss did confirm that she officially filed for divorce on November 21.
Shortly after the filing, Kandi appeared on Amazon Live and openly reflected on where her emotions stand.
“It is a wild time right now,” she admitted. She told viewers that her feelings swing from steady to overwhelmed. “I’m being real with y’all. One minute I feel fine. The next minute, everything hits me at once,” she said. She added that divorce is never simple, explaining, “Sometimes you’re holding it together. Sometimes you’re just sad. It’s a lot.”
Even as their marriage comes to an end, Kandi said she and Todd made it a point to spend Thanksgiving together with their kids. Only days earlier, they had celebrated Blaze’s sixth birthday as a family.
