K. Michelle is calling out Shaboozey after she says their early conversations about working together ended without an explanation.
The singer addressed the situation on The Breakfast Club, claiming Shaboozey initially reached out through social media and sent her supportive messages. She said his A&R representative also attempted to connect with her.
According to K. Michelle, the tone changed when she asked whether he wanted to collaborate.
“When I text you about a feature, you don’t answer back,” she said.

K. Michelle explained that she does not often request features and did not initiate their first conversations, and also shared that country icon Dolly Parton is already involved.
“Don’t be texting me … when you need to show urban,” she continued, suggesting he only contacted her when it benefited his image with Black listeners. “Once they find out you don’t like Black women, it’s over for you anyway.”
Shaboozey has not publicly addressed the accusations.
K. Michelle believes more Black country stars should be more willing to communicate and support one another.
“We do each other so bad,” she said. A direct “no,” she added, would have been easier to accept than silence.
