K. Michelle says one past label office visit ended with a lasting consequence.
During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, the singer claimed she is banned from Sony Music’s New York building… alongside two other extremely high-profile celebrities.
“Do you understand me, Michael Jackson and DMX are the only ones banned from the Sony Building in New York?” K. Michelle said in a clip shared by the show. “I ran up in the building because I had questions. So they let me in but then they told me the police was on the way but I got in the building.”
K. Michelle, who has spoken publicly for years about label disputes and artist treatment, said the alleged incident occurred after she went to Sony seeking answers, but did not provide any further details about what happened when she entered the building.
Jackson had a public dispute with Sony in the early 2000s, including criticism of former executive Tommy Mottola. DMX also had a stormy public association with the music business during his career.
K. Michelle did not say whether she has tried to return to the building since the alleged ban.
The singer has been facing backlash following her debut on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. K. Michelle has accused Porsha Williams and Drew Sidora of plotting against her but fans have accused her of being paranoid and of bringing down the vibes on the show.
