Julio Foolio M*rderer Punished Again Over Corrections Officer Attack!

Lyndon Abioye |

Davion Murphy received another five years in prison this week, while he is already serving life for the 2024 killing of Jacksonville rapper Foolio.

Murphy appeared in court Wednesday and was sentenced for assaulting a corrections officer while in custody. He was accused of punching the officer in the face during a physical altercation in February.

The five-year term will run concurrently with his life sentence. Murphy, who agreed to plead guilty on June 29, was also credited with 536 days already served. The sentencing came shortly after Murphy and three other men, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright and Rashad Murphy, received life sentences for their involvement in Foolio’s death.

Murphy used his opportunity to address the court to deny responsibility for the rapper’s killing and offer advice to others his age.

“I just want to say to the Gen Z generation, change your life and do something productive with your life because in this predicament, it ain’t worth it,” he said.

A jury convicted the four men in May. Foolio was fatally shot during an ambush in a Tampa hotel parking lot in June 2024. A fifth defendant, Alicia Andrews, was convicted of manslaughter in 2025 and sentenced to 15 years in prison last month.
