Megan Thee Stallion is probably somewhere celebrating her latest legal win against Minagro Gramz.
The rapper has been awarded $75,000 after a federal judge reinstated a jury’s defamation verdict against Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, better known as Milagro Gramz, and entered an amended final judgment in Megan’s favor.
Chief U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga issued the order on May 29, 2026, granting Megan’s request to restore the defamation verdict in part, and the decision reversed an earlier decision that had kept the defamation count from being included in the final judgment.
The case centered on statements Cooper made after Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was convicted in connection with the 2020 shooting of Megan. Jurors previously found Cooper liable for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and promotion of a graphic deepfake. At first, the court did not enter judgment on the defamation claim because the jury found Cooper qualified as a “media defendant.” Under Florida law, that finding would have required Megan to send a pre-suit notice before bringing the claim.
Judge Altonaga took another look at that issue and reached a different conclusion based on the trial record.
“The trial record establishes Defendant was not entitled to pre-suit notice,” the court wrote.
The judge found Cooper’s connection to the Peterson family mattered. According to the ruling, Cooper “had received payments from Sonstar, obtained information from the Peterson team before other media outlets, and sent materials to assist Daystar’s criminal defense.”
That finding cleared the way for the defamation verdict to be restored.
Jurors had found that Cooper’s remarks about Megan, including calling her a “non-credible witness” and questioning whether she had tried to deceive courts, were defamatory.
The $75,000 award now covers all three counts on which the jury sided with Megan. The court said requests for costs and attorney’s fees will be handled later, adding that they “shall not be submitted until after any post-trial motions are decided or an appeal is concluded.”
