Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, is raising new concerns about what he believes is happening behind the scenes as more Epstein-related documents make their way toward public release.
In a recent conversation with NewsNation, Mark claimed he’s been told that the sudden political support for making the files public isn’t about transparency, but about editing.
“I’ve been recently told the reason they’re going to be releasing these things, and the reason for the flip is that they’re sanitizing these files,” he said, alleging that Republicans became more willing to back a vote only after learning that the material was being cleaned up.
Mark also pointed to FBI Director Kash Patel, saying a source informed him that Patel is involved in a larger effort to manage what ultimately becomes public.
According to Mark, the same source claimed the process is taking place at a facility in Winchester, Virginia, where certain names are being scrubbed.
“There’s a facility in Winchester, Virginia, where they’re scrubbing the files to take Republican names out of it. That’s what I was told by a pretty good source,” he said.
In the interview, Mark shared another belief he’s held for years. He suggested that President Donald Trump’s insistence that he barely knew Epstein doesn’t line up with what his brother once implied to him.
While Jeffrey never revealed details, Mark said he was convinced his brother had compromising information about Trump. “He didn’t tell me what he knew, but Jeffrey definitely had dirt on Trump,” he said. “Trump could deny it all he wants, but it’s pretty clear everything Trump says is a lie.”
Trump has publicly rejected any suggestion of a close friendship with Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while facing federal charges involving minors. Still, some of the emails released so far claim Trump spent extended periods of time at Epstein’s home and that he allegedly knew about the girls Epstein trafficked.
Trump has repeatedly denied these allegations.
