The father of JayDaYoungan has spoken out about his son’s shooting death.
According to TMZ, Kenyatta Scott, says they were sitting on the porch of their home when a black truck pulled up to the front of the house and 3 armed people jumped out. Scott says him and the rapper tried to run inside the house but two more men pulled up on them and began shooting. His father fired back.
Scott told TMZ that his son was hit “at least 8 times.” Scott says he was shot twice in the arm. They were both rushed to hospital. His son did not make it. Scott says his son was shot because of jealousy.
“We can now identify the victims as Javorius Scott, A.K.A. JayDaYoungan and close family member Kenyatta Scott Sr. We can also confirm that Javorius Scott has died as a result of his injuries,” a statement from police said at the time. “Kenyatta Scott Sr. has been transported to another facility and we have been told he is in stable condition. Detectives are currently conducting interviews and working leads. Further information will follow as it becomes available.”
