Jay-Z is reportedly taking the Super Bowl halftime stage himself in 2027 after spending years helping decide which music superstars get the coveted gig.
The 56-year-old rapper has reportedly selected himself to headline Super Bowl LXI, according to Puck, which cited “multiple sources” familiar with the decision.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has helped oversee the halftime show since 2019, when his entertainment company Roc Nation partnered with the NFL to produce the annual spectacle.
The reported decision follows speculation that the NFL was also considering Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Bieber for the February 2027 Los Angeles performance.
And fans may have another reason to get excited: Beyoncé.
The rapper’s wife could potentially join him onstage, although no special guests have been announced.
Beyoncé previously headlined the halftime show in 2013 and returned in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Other possible guests include Roc Nation-associated stars Rihanna, Alicia Keys, J. Cole and Megan Thee Stallion, though their involvement remains speculation.
Jay-Z’s potential performance would also come during a major year for his music career, marking the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.
The NFL and Roc Nation have not officially confirmed the reported booking.
Online, fans have reacted to the news, calling out the veteran rapper for allegedly “choosing himself” as the headliner.
