Jake Paul’s attempt to shock the boxing world collapsed in violent fashion Friday night, as Anthony Joshua steamrolled him in a one-sided beating that ended with Paul hospitalized and headed for surgery.
The YouTuber turned boxer suffered a fractured jaw during the Netflix-streamed bout in Miami, where Joshua knocked him down four times before the fight was stopped in the sixth round. Paul later shared X-rays revealing his jaw had been broken in two places, confirming the extent of the damage after a night where he was badly outmatched.
Just got out of surgery. Everything went smooth. Thanks for all the love. Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for 7 days

S/o to the amazing team at Miami University hospital. Everyone was so gracious and caring. @ArmaniiJayy took amazing care of me with @iam_loriv
“Just got out of surgery. Everything went smoothly,” Paul wrote Saturday morning, alongside photos showing two titanium plates now reinforcing his jaw. “Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for 7 days.” He also thanked the medical staff who treated him, calling the hospital team “gracious and caring.”
The loss marks a brutal chapter in Paul’s unconventional boxing career, which has included bouts against former MMA fighters and a heavily scrutinized exhibition with Mike Tyson earlier in his run. At one point, Paul was also expected to fight Gervonta Davis, a matchup that fueled controversy but never materialized.
For now, Paul is focused on recovery.
