Jake Paul Blasts Canelo Alvarez After Terence Crawford Loss

Tiffany Brockworth |

Jake Pula has weighed in on Canelo Alvarez’s recent loss to Terence Crawford, no longer making him the undisputed super middleweight champion.

“Canelo putting his hand up like he won. Lol, dumba– lying weirdo. Canelo been over rated,” Paul tweeted after Canelo’s defeat.

Paul was originally supposed to step into the ring with Canelo but Canelo would sign a multi-fight deal with Riyadh Season.  At the time, Paul publicly attacked Alvarez for “ducking” him and signing the deal for money, calling him “money-hungry”.

“We were on the one-yard line, and we got a pick-six,” Paul said on The Ariel Helwani Show.

“An interception going the other way, man. Fourth quarter, game-winner, and we just got intercepted. I understand it, you know, basically they threatened to pull Canelo’s $300 million contract if he was to fight me. That’s how bad they want me out of boxing. They understand I’m the one doing the biggest events so they threatened to pull his $300 million contract if he was going to fight me. I understand where Canelo was coming from wanting to secure that bread for his family.”

Paul is scheduled to step into the ring for an exhibition fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis on Friday, November 14, 2025, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
