Ja Rule says he’s reached a place in life where unresolved beef no longer keeps him up at night.
Following his recent public confrontation with Tony Yayo, the rapper made it clear he has no interest in forcing peace or pretending old issues don’t exist. Speaking in New York this week, Ja explained that not every conflict needs a tidy ending.
“Sometimes in life, people have enemies, and that’s okay,” he said. “Everybody can’t be friends.”
For Ja, growth doesn’t mean reconciliation. “We don’t have to be cool, and we don’t have to be at war either,” he continued. “I don’t deal with that side. They don’t deal with me. That’s fine.”
The comments arrive after a video circulated of a tense exchange involving Ja, Tony Yayo, and Uncle Murda during a flight over Super Bowl weekend.
While Ja later expressed regret that the moment became public, he hasn’t softened his stance on the decades-old rivalry. “I wish the video wasn’t out there,” he admitted in a statement days later. “I’m a grown man about to be a grandfather. But I’m still going to stand my ground.”
Ja also addressed the situation on television, saying maturity now shapes how he reacts. “There’s a responsibility to carry yourself a certain way,” he said. “Disrespect isn’t tolerated, but there’s a way to move.”
