Los Angeles investigators are quietly piecing together the final days of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, after her remains were found on September 8 inside the trunk of a Tesla linked to rising recording artist D4vd, turning the once promising singer into the focus of an intense and secretive criminal probe.
A grand jury has been hearing evidence in closed session, and sources say witnesses have already been summoned.
Authorities are releasing almost nothing. Detectives persuaded a judge to block the autopsy findings, and a court filing tied to that request openly refers to the case as an investigation into murder.
TMZ reported that police consider D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, and another individual as suspects. The 20-year-old artist has remained completely silent since the discovery, a decision some critics call suspicious, as his once-fast-rising career sits frozen.

“Celeste's body was not frozen. She was not decapitated. The whole frozen thing doesn't even make sense. Her body was in the car for weeks." pic.twitter.com/xv6Ea0MM34
The Tesla at the center of the case was towed from a quiet Hollywood Hills street on September 5 after being left abandoned. Three days later, workers at the impound lot opened the trunk after noticing a powerful odor and found Celeste’s remains. She had previously run away from her Riverside County home, and how she crossed paths with the artist remains a mystery.
A private investigator hired by the singer’s landlord claims he uncovered surveillance footage showing the car being moved in late July by someone wearing distinctive clothing. He turned the video over to the police but refused to identify the person.
