Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas as a grand jury reviews evidence connected to singer d4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke.

According to TMZ, prosecutors in Los Angeles County are presenting testimony to a grand jury as part of an effort to determine whether charges should be filed… and that he will likely be hit with charges. A source alleges that jurors have begun hearing from witnesses and are actively evaluating evidence gathered during what officials have described as a thorough investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The case dates back to Sept. 8, when police were called to a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a strong odor coming from a vehicle. Authorities later confirmed that human remains were discovered inside a Tesla that had been towed days earlier and was registered to Burke. The remains were later identified as Rivas, who had been reported missing since April 2024.

Law enforcement officials have said the body was severely decomposed at the time of discovery. Investigators have not publicly detailed the cause of death.

Rivas was last seen in Lake Elsinore, California. Her mother previously told TMZ that her daughter had been dating someone named David and that the two shared matching tattoos.

As of now, no formal charges have been announced.
