Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant is making a major career move, landing a starring role and executive producer credit on BET’s upcoming scripted series Church Wives.
The reality television personality will bring her talents to the new drama, which premieres Nov. 4 at 10 p.m. ET/CT.
The reality star and former First Lady shared her excitement about the project in a statement.
“I’m incredibly honored to be part of this exciting project,” she said. “Being able to help bring a project I’m so passionate about to life has been incredibly rewarding.”
The new opportunity comes as Bryant continues her 11th season on The Real Housewives of Potomac, where she has remained a main cast member since the show’s January 2016 premiere.
Throughout her time on Bravo, Bryant has shared intimate details of her family life, including raising daughters Grace, Angel and Adore and her relationship with ex-husband Jamal Bryant. She’s also been at the center of memorable clashes with Karen Huger and other castmates, while her friendship with Robyn Dixon helped establish the duo as the “Green-Eyed Bandits.”
Her latest project takes her from reality television to a fictional megachurch, where two women compete for a powerful position. The rivalry soon spills into church events, friendships and the congregation itself.
Bryant stars alongside Ashley Clarice, Amberlin Morse and Cortez Adams.
Church Wives will debut with weekly half-hour episodes on BET before transitioning to shorter, mobile-friendly installments on aTwist’s platform.
