Gilbert Arenas’ son was recently in a car crash, and according to the former athlete, the Tesla Cybertruck he was riding in malfunctioned, causing the accident.
“The car malfunctioned on him,” he said of his 18-year-old son Alijah Arenas’ crash. “The steering wheel went limp and ran him right into a tree.”
“He couldn’t break the window. Physically, he said he was trying to kick the window in and couldn’t. If you’re a parent and your teen has this car, you might want to put a hammer in that joint,” Arenas continued.

Alijah was seriously injured in a violent Tesla Cybertruck crash on April 24 in Los Angeles, where the vehicle collided with a tree and a fire hydrant before bursting into flames. He was placed in a medically induced coma after reportedly inhaling high levels of carbon dioxide.
Six days later, Alijah was released from the hospital. His family issued a statement saying he’s “now resting comfortably under close watch,” noting that his road to recovery is “just beginning.”
