Season 20 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has barely started, but Shannon Beador is already catching heat from a former producer.
Patrick McDonald, who previously worked on the Housewives franchise, criticized Beador’s on-camera behavior after Teddi Mellencamp called the reality star’s repeated falls a “falling shtick.”
“It’s the most wild thing to see her go from losing her sh*t, yelling, screaming and cussing at producers & crew,” McDonald wrote on Instagram. He claimed that when “the cameras turn on,” Beador “instantly clicks into this tired old performative schtick.”
McDonald went even further, calling her “one of the most miserable and narcissistic housewives across the entire brand.”
His remarks appeared beneath comedian and Bravo fan Heather McDonald’s parody video for the imaginary “Shannon Beador’s Acting School.” In the clip, Heather recreates some of Beador’s familiar mannerisms, including loud shrieks, exaggerated stumbles and cries of “hold on.”
Heather first gets tangled in a dog leash before struggling to remove a pool cover-up. She later reveals a bikini worn over shapewear and attempts to climb onto a float, only to tumble into the water.
Shannon, who returned alongside the Orange County cast for the show’s milestone season, has not publicly responded to Patrick’s comments.
