Fivio Foreign is choosing celibacy until marriage as he deepens his Christian faith, but the rapper admits that particular promise is testing him.
“No sex before marriage is the hardest part of my walk with Jesus by farrrrr,” Fivio wrote on X this week.
The Brooklyn native’s declaration comes weeks after he was baptized in August, when he publicly committed himself to a new chapter.
“I pray I keep the promises I made to God,” he wrote after the ceremony.
Fivio, 36, is already a father of three and has spent much of this year making major lifestyle changes. After facing legal issues, he also committed to sobriety and has increasingly spoken about wanting his personal life and music to reflect his faith.
“I don’t feel like I’m a gospel artist and I really don’t feel like I’m doing gospel music,” he told The Shade Room. “I just name it gospel music because I know what that means.”
The artist says his new offerings are “music from my heart,” adding, “I’m just trying to praise God through my music and not worship the devil through my music, push a positive image and change.”
