Finesse2Tymes had something to prove, and he chose an unexpected way to do it.
The Memphis rapper, 33, went live on TikTok this week after some viewers questioned whether he could read. Instead of ignoring the comments, Finesse2Tymes turned the livestream into an impromptu reading session.
“Can I read?” he said to one commenter. “Can you walk? What are you talking about?”
To make his point clear, the rapper picked up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and began reading aloud. Joking with viewers, he referred to the famous wizard as “Harry Potty” before leaning fully into narrator mode and reading a passage from the book. “I’ma show you I can read,” he said as comments continued to roll in.
At one point, a viewer challenged him to spell a word, which only added fuel to the moment. Finesse laughed it off and kept going, clearly enjoying the chance to silence doubters in real time. “I can read Harry Potty,” he declared near the end of the livestream.
The viral moment comes shortly after the rapper made headlines for a public dispute over music sampling fees, but this time the spotlight was firmly on his personality.
