Feds Charge Lil Zay Osama in Alleged Crypto Heist!

Tiffany Brockworth |

Rapper Lil Zay Osama has been charged alongside five others in a federal indictment alleging involvement in a planned robbery and kidnapping scheme.

Prosecutors claim the group targeted a Winnetka home in March 2026, seeking cryptocurrency and other assets. The indictment states that the defendants coordinated their actions via phone and used stolen vehicles to carry out the plan.

Authorities allege that on March 8, several individuals approached the residence, with one posing as a delivery driver to gain access. Once inside, prosecutors say the group restrained a victim and demanded access to financial accounts and valuables.

The filing also details alleged communications among the defendants during the incident, including calls prosecutors say were used to dole out instructions for accessing digital assets.

Following the incident, authorities claim the group fled and later met to take stock of everything that was taken.

Charges in the case include conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to commit robbery affecting interstate commerce and prosecutors are seeking forfeiture of money and weapons they allege were connected to the incident.

Dukes, who now lives in Los Angeles, was added to the case in a later indictment.

His attorney says his client was not present for the robbery and that he did not set it up.

The case is ongoing.
