50 Cent is being dragged back to court, this time by a former executive who is filing serious claims against the rapper and entrepreneur.
Attorneys for Monique Mayers announced that they have filed a lawsuit in Georgia federal court, alleging that Jackson carried out “a years-long campaign of retaliation, harassment, and intimidation” after she refused to engage in unlawful conduct.
Mayers, who spent over a decade working with G-Unit and related ventures, says she was dismissed in 2019 for declining to participate in activities such as bankruptcy fraud and making false statements to law enforcement.
“Ms. Mayers would not lie to police. She would not frame another person,” her attorneys state in the complaint.
Following her departure, the lawsuit alleges she received more than 80 threatening calls and messages.
“The message was unmistakable: Protect Jackson’s secrets or suffer the consequences,” the filing reads.
50 Cent’s attorney, Reena Jain, strongly disputes the accusations and says they will fight the allegations until the end.
“We categorically and strenuously deny the baseless allegations,” she said, referring to the case as “a stunt to garner media attention.” The complaint also claims Mayers was pulled into investigations tied to Sire Spirits and faced intimidation during legal proceedings.
Mayers is seeking damages for emotional distress.
