Dwight Howard’s Estranged Wife Accuses Him of Abuse… Then Drops Protective Order

Lyndon Abioye |

Former NBA star Dwight Howard is at the center of explosive claims made by his estranged wife, Amber Howard, in a since-dismissed protective order.

Amber filed for the order on June 27, alleging a disturbing pattern of abuse, including claims Dwight once drugged her with Molly disguised as tea and physically restrained her during fights. She also accused the baller of locking her out of their Georgia home, using excessive force, and displaying obsessive behavior.

She requested exclusive access to the $11 million mansion they shared.

A temporary order was granted but later dropped by Amber, who decided not to pursue the case “at this time.”

Dwight’s attorney, Gillian B. Fierer, fired back, calling Amber’s claims “patently false” and accusing her of being the volatile one in the relationship. “Dwight has never done anything remotely assaultive in nature,” she said, calling the case a manipulation tactic in what should have been a “simple divorce.”

The couple, who married in January 2025, have no children and are currently going through divorce proceedings. Amber filed for divorce on July 1, just six months later, citing an “irretrievably broken” marriage. Dwight had filed first on June 27, listing her name as Amber Rose Pouncy and citing fraud and cruel treatment.

Both sides are requesting control over property, and Amber is seeking alimony.
